1964 Kennedy Half Dollar

1964 was the first and only year that the Kennedy Half Dollar was minted in 90% silver. This coin was minted after his assassination, and some of the 1964 proofs have the Accented Hair. Kennedy’s wife requested the changes be made so that his hair would look better. Those are valued at between $100 and $900 depending on the condition and the market. So bring in your collection today for free evaluation.

Customer J. Law wanted to know why the local cash for gold, pawn shops and jewelry shops all offered to  pay him anywhere from 20% - 60% for his 9 rings?  We advised him that some gold items may be worth more when sold as they are, rather than if they are melted down. If your jewelry comes from a well-known designer or maker, it may have a value to some buyers beyond the gold it's made of. Main Street Exchange sells jewelry to the public for less than retail Jewelry shops so we are able to pay more. We only melt scrap gold.

Remember, you don't have to jump at the first offer for your gold. Shop around for a few different bids.

J. Law is a our return customer that we have earned because we paid him 20% more than his highest offer.
